Fine Art Photography

My work explores the question of belonging, both as an individual in society and as part of humanity in general. I focus on the subjects of reality, death, identity, and solitude.

As an immigrant, I often experience a sense of estrangement from society, and this feeling runs as a red thread through my work. I attempt to comprehend the idea of “home” and what it looks like while it exists only in my memory, and therefore uncertain and fictional. With this fictional past and nonexistent future, the images are left to question reality itself.

In terms of technical process, I try to capture as much as possible in-camera before turning to Photoshop. This approach allows the photograph to remain more realistic, so that any mystical or surreal elements remain only as a quiet disruption. I do not use AI in my work, as it would defeat the purpose of taking a photograph. I strive to balance moody settings and range of colors to create mysterious and unsettling atmosphere.

Although many of my photographs carry a deep conceptual meaning others remain only a shell, containing nothing but emptiness. This void is a central part of my work and is a deep pit that I attempt to fill with comforting images and, at most, a small sense of meaning. In this emptiness, I leave space for the viewer to construct their own.
